This Watermark Tool allows you to add text or image watermarks to PDF pages directly in your browser. Watermarks help assert ownership, mark drafts, or discourage unauthorized use. This demo performs watermarking client-side so your files remain on your device during processing.

How it works (high level)

  1. Open a PDF file from your device.
  2. Choose a watermark type: text (e.g., "CONFIDENTIAL") or image (logo/signature).
  3. Configure appearance: font size, color, opacity, rotation, scale and position.
  4. Preview the watermark on a selected page. When satisfied, apply the watermark to all pages or selected pages and download the watermarked PDF.

Limitations & recommendations

  • This demo flattens watermarks into the visual content of each page. It does not create secured or cryptographic watermarks resistant to removal.
  • Complex PDFs or very large files require more memory and may be slow in-browser; for large-scale production watermarking use server-side tools.
  • For legal or forensically robust watermarking, consider specialized watermarking services or PDF standards that support metadata and certification.

Will the watermark be embedded on every page?

Yes — you can choose to apply the watermark to all pages or only to selected pages using the "All pages" option. The preview shows the watermark on the currently selected page.

Can the watermark be removed?

Because the watermark is flattened into the page content, it may be difficult to remove without modifying the page. However, determined editing may remove visible watermarks. For tamper-evident protection consider cryptographic signing or secure PDF workflows.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No — in this client-side demo files are processed in your browser only. For any server-based deployments make sure to document uploads, processing, and retention in your privacy policy.

Which browsers are supported?

Modern desktop browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) are recommended. Mobile browsers may work but can be limited by memory and file API capabilities.
