Sign PDF — Add Signatures & Annotations
A privacy-focused, client-side PDF signing demo. Upload a PDF, place signatures or draw, and download the signed PDF. Includes documentation and FAQ suitable for AdSense.
About this tool
The Sign PDF tool allows you to add signatures and simple annotations to PDF documents directly in your browser. This demo focuses on privacy: files are processed locally on your device and not uploaded to any server. You can place pre-typed signatures, draw your signature, add text fields, and then save the signed copy as a new PDF.
How it works
- Open a PDF from your device. The tool reads pages and creates client-side thumbnails and a page preview.
- Select a signature option (pre-typed or draw), then click on the page preview to place it. Drag to move or resize using handles.
- Add text annotations where needed (names, titles, dates).
- When ready, click "Save & Download" to generate a new PDF containing the original pages plus your annotations embedded as flattened content.
Recommended use cases
- Signing forms or contracts when no server-side signature workflow is required.
- Adding simple annotations, names, or dates to PDF pages.
- Quick client-side signing for privacy-sensitive documents.
Limitations & recommendations
- This demo flattens signatures onto page images — it does not create cryptographic or certified signatures. For legally binding digital signatures consult an e-signature provider that supports digital certificates and audit trails.
- Complex form filling (AcroForms) and field-level validation are not fully supported in this lightweight client-side demo.
- Large PDFs may be slow to process in the browser; for heavy workflows use a desktop or server-based solution.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is this a legally binding signature?
This demo places visual signatures onto PDF pages (flattened images). It does not provide cryptographic signing or compliance with eIDAS, ESIGN, or similar digital signature standards. For legally binding electronic signatures, use a provider that offers certificate-based digital signatures and an auditable signing workflow.
Are my documents uploaded to a server?
No — this demonstration processes files locally in your browser. If you deploy a production service, include a clear privacy policy describing any uploads and data retention.
Which browsers work best?
Modern desktop browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) are recommended. Mobile browsers may work but can be limited by memory and file APIs.
Can I move or resize a placed signature?
Yes — after placement you can drag to reposition. Resize handles are provided on the placed element in this demo for basic resizing.
